• The Liverpool Tennis Foundation, launched in November 2012, acts as the Community Tennis arm of Northern Vision – the organisers of the annual Liverpool International Tournament in Calderstones Park – in association with the LTA, Liverpool City Council and partner tennis clubs in Liverpool.

 

• The aim of the Foundation is to use Tennis to make an active difference into the lives of thousands of young people and adults throughout Liverpool – developing transferable life skills of self esteem, respect for others and teamwork.

• In doing so we aim to create a long term and sustainable increase in participation – in schools, clubs, parks and centres – and also, through our schools programme, to identify talented children who can be fast-tracked into performance programmes.

​

• We also act as an information source for Liverpool Tennis and assist with promoting membership of local clubs and publicising competitions and special events.

​

• Liverpool’s Davis Cup Tennis Star Ken Skupski, currently ranked in the top 50 in the world for doubles is on board as the Foundation’s Special Ambassador.

Our Programmes are divided into

5 core areas of activity
 

1. Promotion – Year Round Schools Programme, Special Events, Liverpool International Tournament Kids Day and Community Link Programmes
    

2. Coaching – Mini Tennis and Junior Tennis Sessions at partner clubs, ‘Back to Tennis’ Adult Courses, Junior Holiday Programmes
    

3. Playing – Organised Social Tennis and Fun Matchplay Sessions at partner clubs
    

4. Competing – Mini Tennis and Junior Tennis Tournaments, Matches and Local Leagues
    

5. Learning Through Tennis – Youth Leadership and Coach Education
