ANDERS BORG
President
As Director of Northern Vision and organiser of the successful Liverpool International Tennis Tournament over the last 15 years Anders has made a massive contribution to raising the profile of Liverpool within Tennis. The tournament has grown into one of the largest exhibition events in Europe and has included active stars such as Marat Safin, Richard Krajicek, Novak Djokovic and Caroline Wozniacki as well as past legends including Martina Navratilovoa, John McEnroe, Martina Hingis, Ilie Nastase (...and the unque Mansour Bahrami!).
The Kids Day at the Liverpool International has attacted over 1000 children annually and currently holds the official Guinness World Record for the largest ever Tennis lesson! Anders has also established an annual JUnior ITF event on Merseyside which atracts some of the top young talent in Merseyside.
DAVID SIMMS
Director / Head Coach
David is an LTA Coach Education Tutor with a 35 year track record in devising and delivering successful award winning programmes. This started in London where he initiated and directed the Brent Tennis Foundation for 8 years - the UKs first ever year round parks programme. He then moved to Alverstoke LTC in Hampshire for 5 years as Head Coach during which time the Club was named both LTA Top Club and LTA Top Junior Club nationally. There followed 11 years as Tennis Development Officer for Liverpool City Council winning both the LTA Coach of the Year and Local Authority of the Year Awards.
In 2012 recently he set up the Liverpool Tennis Foundation and started ‘Tennis for Free’ schemes in Sefton Park (currently the largest in the UK and named as Tennis Lancashire Community Venue of the Year 2016)) and Maghull. He has also enjoyed success as Tennis Director at Palmerston in Liverpool winning the Lancashire Club of the Year Award and growing the Junior Section from 25 to nearly 200. As well as his role as Director, David will be leading on the Adult Sessions and Junior Club Sessions and is committed and excited about introducing players to 'Play and Stay' within Tennis for life!
ALAN DOVE
Deputy Director / Senior Coach
Alan is an innovative and dynamic young Coach who has been an essential part of the success at Palmerston particularly with stronger standard juniors. He spent a year as a staff Teaching Pro at the Newcombe Tennis Academy in Texas, one of the world’s leading training programmes. He will lead on Junior 18 and Under Squads at Palmerston and Blundellsands as well as being involved with Tennis For Free at Maghull

JOEL DONNELLY
Senior Coach, Blundellsands
Joel is a motivational young Coach who is at the forefront of our new programme at Blundellsands where he also is a leading force in the club's 1st team. He has a wealth of successful experience working with juniors and will be heading up the Saturday Flagship Sessions as well as the under 14 Squad programme and holiday camps at the club.
EMMA RAINBIRD
Mini Tennis Director, Palmerston
Sefton Park & Blundellsands
Emma is a Lancashire County Doubles Champion and a student at Liverpool JMU. She has also spent time teaching at the Newcombe Academy and runs the successful Junior section of the Sefton Park Programme. Her role is running sessions to actively encourage more girls to get involved at Palmerston and Blundellsands as well as developing our Mini Tennis provision.
GRANT THOMAS
Performance Coach
Grant is an inspirational Performance Coach with an impressive track record working with high level junior players. He is currently based on the Wirral at Port Sunlight and Bertram Tennis Clubs and is involved with our annual training trip to the Newk's Academy as well as running performance sessions at Palmerston.
GARY SCHNEIDER
Site Director, Maghull
Gary is an exciting young Coach who is part of our successful TENNIS FOR FREE initiative at Maghull. He is a long standing member of the club, having risen through the junior ranks and will be heading up the Saturday morning programme there
JAMES PARKER
Staff Coach, Palmerston
James is a former Lancashire Junior county champion and has attended performance training academies in France and the USA. He plays a successful role in working on court individually with some of our most talented young junior players.
MARK THOMAS
Staff Coach, Palmerston / Sefton Park
Mark is a Sports Development Student at Leeds Becket Uni and a product of the Palmerston Junior Programme. He has completed two stints at the Newk's Academy and also headed up our successful community free Tennis inititiative in Princes Park in 2016.
DANNY WOODWORTH
Tennis for Free, Sefton Park
Danny began as a player, then volunteer on our Sefton Park Tennis for Free site. He now works full time for the Merseyside Sports Partnership but continues to play a huge and inspirational part in the success of the programme.
MARK COWLEY
Staff Coach, Maghull
Mark is a motivational coach who has worked successfully at Maghull Tennis Club and also completed a stint at David Lloyd Knowsley. He will be a big part of our campaign to grow the programme at Maghull.
SOPHIE SMITH
Assistant Coach, Maghull
Sophie is a sports student at Edge Hill University and plays for the Women's first team at Maghull Tennis Club. She will be a key player in the launch of our new programme at the club. on the Saturday morning sessions.
RYAN CALLEJA
Assistant Coach, Maghull
Ryan is a team player for Maghull Tennis club who has been a key staff member on the TENNIS FOR FREE programme there. In summer 2017 he is due to go for a training placementat the Newk's Academy.
NICOLA WOLFE
Assistant Coach, Palmerston
NIcola is a leading member of the Palmerston Women's 1st team who are currently Liverpool League Champions. She is a hugely popular assistant on the Palmerston programme and never fails to enthuse the young players there.
JOSH COWLEY
Assistant Coach, Blundellsands
Josh is a dynamic young player for Blundellsands who has played a big part in encouraging the club's junioes. He will be part of the team delivering the weekly Flagship Sessions
